We are excited to welcome you to WCIM 2026 in Taipei. If you’re planning to travel to Taiwan, here’s information to help you determine if you need a visa and ways to apply for one. Determining if you need a visa to Taiwan

To determine whether you need a visa to enter Taiwan, we recommend checking the official Bureau of Consular Affairs (BOCA) for the most up-to-date visa information and requirements. We also advise participants to review entry and visa requirements at least three months prior to travel, as country-specific conditions may apply.

Important Reminders

  • Please note that visa processing time may vary by country, location, and season. Participants are responsible for meeting all entry requirements and allowing sufficient processing time. We strongly recommend applying as early as possible.
  • Please ensure your passport is valid for at least six months from your date of arrival in Taiwan.
  • The WCIM 2026 Secretariat does not have the authority to change the decision of any TECO office, nor will the WCIM 2026 Secretariat appeal to TECO offices on behalf of the applicant.
  • Please note that additional documentation may be required by your local TECO office, including but not limited to the following documents:
    • WCIM 2026 Registration Confirmation
    • Flight Itinerary
    • Accommodation Reservation
    • Proof of Financial Support

Invitation Letter

The WCIM 2026 Secretariat can only issue an official Letter of Invitation to delegates who have completed registration and fully paid the registration fee.

Please note:

  • Invitation Letters processing will take 3-5 business days.
  • Invitation Letters require completed registration and full payment.
  • Invitation Letters are for Congress Only and do not guarantee visa approval.

Please have the following information in your visa support letter request:

Arrival Card

Please check the following to determine whether you need to complete the Arrival Card before proceeding with the application.

  • Visa-Exempt Entry: Required
  • Visa / eVisa (e-Code): Required
  • For Hong Kong and Macau Passport Holders: Required for those holding Multiple Entry & Exit Permits.
  • For Republic of China (PRC) Passport Holders: Required for those holding Multiple Entry & Exit Permits for the purpose of sightseeing.

Please submit the Arrival Card no more than 3 days before your arrival in Taiwan, as required by the National Immigration Agency.

Visa Requirements

Below is a summary of the visa application options. Please select the one that matches your status to proceed.

  • Visa-Exempt Entry: Citizens of many countries may enter Taiwan visa-free for stays of 14, 30, or 90 days, depending on their nationality. Please verify if your passport qualifies for this exemption here.
  • Visa / eVisa (e-Code): Citizens of eligible countries may apply for a Visa / eVisa to enter Taiwan, depending on their nationality. Please verify whether your passport qualifies for a Visa / eVisa here.
  • For Hong Kong and Macau Passport Holders: Participants holding a Hong Kong or Macau Passport should follow the instructions provided below.
  • For Republic of China (PRC) Passport Holders: Participants holding a Republic of China (PRC) Passport should follow the instructions provided below.

Visa-Exempt Entry

Passport holders of the nationalities listed below can stay in Taiwan for up to 14-90 days without applying for a visa.

Passport holders of the nationalities listed below are eligible to apply for an eVisa (e-Code) to enter Taiwan.
The WCIM 2026 Secretariat can assist eligible participants by issuing the required e-Code for the eVisa application, but only for delegates who have completed registration and fully paid the registration fee.

eVISA

Passport holders of the nationalities listed below are eligible to apply for an eVisa (e-Code) to enter Taiwan.

For citizens of the following countries: An eVisa can be applied for without an e-Code:
Bahrain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colombia*, Dominica, Ecuador, Kuwait, Mauritius, Montenegro, Oman, Panama, Peru, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye*, United Arab Emirates.

30 days

For citizens of other countries: An e-Code is required to apply for an eVisa for congress participation. The Congress Organizer will submit e-Code applications in batches on behalf of participants. Once issued, the e-Code can be used to complete the eVisa application online.

*Note: Colombian passport holders must provide a valid visa or resident certificate issued by a Schengen country or a valid resident certificate or visa valid for more than 180 days issued by the United States.
*Note: Türkiye: Only holders of ordinary passports and special passports will be eligible for an eVisa. Eligibility will be adjusted on a rolling basis in accordance with bilateral agreements and the principle of reciprocity.

How to apply for an eVisa (e-Code)

Please prepare the following required documents (clear and legible) and submit them to the Congress Secretariat at secretariat@wcim2026.org. If you have already submitted the documents listed below during the registration process, there is no need to provide them again.

Step 1

  1. Passport copy with Personal Information page showing the following information: passport photo, nationality, passport number, surname, given name, date of birth, expiration date of passport, sex.
  2. Photocopy of the proof of your profession and institution.

Applications are processed in two batches. Please submit by the respective deadlines
Batch 1 deadline: July 20 – 24, 23:59 (UTC+8)
Batch 2 deadline: September 21 – 24, 23:59 (UTC+8)

Step 2

Once your e-Code is approved, the Congress Secretariat will send it to you. Please use it to apply for the eVisa at https://visawebapp.boca.gov.tw/BOCA_EVISA/ and complete the application and payment online.

Step 3

Wait for eVisa approval. Please note that BOCA may request additional documents.

Step 4

Present your eVisa, Official Invitation Letter, and Arrival Card in English (Colored, Clear, and Legible) upon entering Taiwan.

Hong Kong and Macau Passport Holders

Participants holding Hong Kong or Macau passports are required to obtain an Entry Permit to enter Taiwan.
Please refer to the instructions below to identify which situation applies to you before proceeding with the application.

(a) For those who have NEVER entered Taiwan / who were NOT born in Hong Kong or Macau and are entering Taiwan for the first time as Hong Kong or Macau residents

  1. Submit the application form online.
  2. Wait for the approval of Entry Permit, and it takes at least 5 working days.
  3. Complete the payment.
  4. Print out the Entry Permit document.
  5. Present your Entry Permit, Official Invitation Letter, and Arrival Card in English (Colored, Clear, and Legible) upon entering Taiwan.

(b) For those who have previously been permitted to enter Taiwan

  1. Complete the application form online.
  2. Print out the Entry Permit document.
  3. Present your Entry Permit, Official Invitation Letter, and Arrival Card in English (Colored, Clear, and Legible) upon entering Taiwan.

Republic of China (PRC) Passport Holders

大陸地區人民來臺從事專業交流線上申請須知

以下為「持中華人民共和國護照,並自中國大陸出境、赴臺參與國際會議,欲申請臺灣地區入出境許可證」之流程。

若您打算來臺參與WCIM 2026,已完成會議報名及繳費,並且符合以下情況:

  • 您持有中華人民共和國護照
  • 您將自中國境內出發
  • 您將赴臺參與國際會議(WCIM 2026)
  • 您欲申請臺灣地區入出境許可證(Business Entry Permit)

請依據以下三階段說明,於期限內完成資料的填寫與繳交,以確保申請流程順利。

  • 第一、第二階段由會議主辦單位協助辦理,第三階段需由申請者自行辦理。

  2. 護照彩色掃描檔(六個月以上效期)
  3. 大陸地區居民身份證彩色掃描檔(正反面)
  4. 二吋彩色照片(白色背景、最近二年內拍攝)
  5. 資格證明文件(三個月內現職單位開立之職務證明或在校證明)
  6. 若從非中國境內出發,須提供該出發地區之居留證或在再入境簽
  • 請以電腦打字、繁體中文填寫,並提供電子檔(請勿手寫)。
  • 完成後請email至大會信箱 (secretariat@wcim2026.org),註明「註冊ID」及「第二階段申請資料」。
  • 第二階段的審核流程,通常需時20 ~ 30天
  • 強烈建議 完成第一階段申請,立即準備第二階段申請文件,以免錯過截止期限。
  • 當您通過第二階段審核,大會將透過信件通知您。
  • 此階段大會將向您收取相應的簽證處理費用及官方規費(新臺幣600元),繳費方式與詳細說明後續提供。
  • 您無需等待此階段的審核通知,即可準備下階段的文件。提醒您,請盡早準備下階段的文件,以免延誤後續進程。

第三階段

申請者自行向「國家移民管理局委託的縣級以上公安機關出入境管理機構」提出申請,請務必及早作業

第三階段需填寫並繳交資料文件如下:

  1. 中国公民出入境证件申请表
  2. 关于同意◯◯◯申办出入境证件的函
  3. 照片(符合《出入境证件相片照相指引》)
  4. 身份證原件(未滿16歲可用戶口簿)
  5. 臺灣地區入出境許可證
  • 第三階段的審核流程,通常需時20 ~ 30天,每個城市的狀況略有不同。
  • 若您自中國境內出發,需依規定申請《大陆居民往来台湾通行证》。
